André Raymond

Translator

André has more than 30 years of translation experience in a diverse range of areas: sports and recreation, community development, international development child development, strategic planning and fund-raising.

After graduating with a bachelor's degree in translation at the Université de Montréal, André launched his career as a translator in 1979 with the federal government, at Canada Post. In 1980, he joined the translation department at the Montréal YMCA as a translator (from English to French). Three years later, in 1983, André became the director of the translation department, and still holds that position today.

In his work at the YMCA, André serves not only the various YMCAs in the Montreal area, but also a number of community organizations and businesses in the private sector. Among those that regularly call on his services are the Canadian Kidney Foundation, the Quebec Lung Association, the Canadian Boys and Girls Club, the Canadian Philanthropy Centre, and BNP.

Throughout his career, André has consistently succeeded in striking a balance between the demands of the French language and his clients various spheres of activity.
